| Your data boundary | Cloud | On-premiseCustomer-controlled | Hybrid |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where are documents and extracted data stored? | In the configured cloud environment and region, only where storage is enabled in your agreed setup. | Only within customer-controlled infrastructure. Document images and extracted data are not sent to CEBS. | In the locations approved in your service agreement. |
| Does CEBS keep a copy? | Only if contracted CEBS-managed cloud storage is part of your deployment. | No. CEBS retains no document copy, replica or backup. | Any CEBS-managed cloud copy must be explicitly agreed. Local document data remains customer-controlled. |
| Can CEBS access document data? | Only authorized operators where CEBS manages the agreed cloud service, under the agreed access controls. | No. CEBS has no access to your documents or extracted data in any form. | No default CEBS access to local document data. Cloud-service access is limited to the agreed components and permissions. |
| Who controls retention, backups and deletion? | The agreed cloud policies and contracted operator responsibilities. | Your organization exclusively controls retention, backups, deletion and document-processing logs. | Responsibilities and retention policies are defined separately for local and cloud components. |
On-premise means fully customer-managed. Document processing, storage and backups remain inside your infrastructure. CEBS has no document-data access or retained copy. Support uses sanitized diagnostics rather than document samples.
The hosted Document Lab is browser-local. It processes documents in browser memory and does not upload document images or extracted data to this portal. Cloud and Hybrid data handling follows your agreed service terms.
Portal records are separate. CEBS portal account, licensing and commercial records are handled separately from document-processing data. Read the privacy notice.
